ATS Nanoliter Acoustic Dispensing Validated by Artel:

Review the Methods, Results and Conclusions of the Testing completed by Artel and our partner, EDC Biosystems

Earlier this year, Artel and EDC Biosystems released the methods, results and conclusions of their testing of EDC’s ATS-100 Acoustic Transfer System.

Below are the conclusions made along with a link to the Technical Poster and related results:

• The ATS-100 Acoustic Transfer System is free from bias based on droplet run order. This result is clearly demonstrated by the linearity of the fluorescein data (Figure 3 in Document Link) which shows that the first droplet ejected is the same size as subsequent droplets within a brief series.
• When properly tuned, the ATS-100 droplet size is independent of the liquid height in the source plate (Figure 9)
• The Artel MVS was capable of making accurate volume measurements down to the claimed limit of 10nL and perhaps as low as 5nL (Figures 5 and 7)
• At the smallest test setting of 1nL and 2nL, the absorbance signal is small and difficult to separate from background leading to non-linear results at these smallest volumes
• Using the MVS absorbance method, it was possible to show that the ATS-100 dispenses DMSO with excellent precision; typical CV results were in the range of 1% to 3% for volumes of 10nL or larger (Figure 8)
